A topic for solving puzzles and riddles. Let's get started! A teacher was having trouble getting her students to learn their facts, but she noticed that her students often played the game "Rock, Paper, Scissors". She made a game with similar rules in order to encourage the students to learn their facts. The class would be divided into three teams: Rock, Paper and Scissors. The teacher would ask the students a question and the class would raise their hands if they knew the answer. If the first person to answer the question correctly is in the Rock team, he or she would choose one player from the Scissors team to be eliminated. Similarly, if a player from the Scissors team was first to answer the question, then he or she would eliminate a member from the Paper team. Lastly, if a player from the Paper team was first to answer correctly, he or she would eliminate a member from the Rock team. The teacher would then continue asking questions until only one team still has members. That team would be declared the winner. However, as soon as she explained the rules to the class, one student immediately found a large flaw that made the game unplayable. What is the flaw?
Well if say the rock team got a question right, and the scissors team were out of people then they couldn't eliminate anyone leaving the paper team to be able to take out all of the rock team cuz they cant take out anyone from the paper team, only the scissors team so ye basically what Dzon said ^^.
That's correct guys now something slightly more complex: Alice, Eli, Hannah, Isaac, Jane, Cain, Lisa and Matthew are eight professionals living in the same neighborhood. Each of them were educated to a certain profession. These main professions are a sociologist, a computer scientist and a chemist. The maximum amount of people that share the same profession, is three. Each person also has one favorite sport from the list: Football, floorball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, ice hockey, baseball and ping-pong. None of the people share their favorite sport with the others. We know these facts: Isaac is a computer scientist, and doesn't like football or floorball. Cain And Alice are the only sociologists in the group. Alice likes ping-pong. Jane and Matthew don't have the same profession as Isaac. Hannah likes ice hockey and is not a chemist. Lisa is not a computer scientist and doesn't like floorball or badminton. One of the computer scientists likes football. One of the sociologists likes volleyball. None of the computer scientists likes badminton or tennis. Matthew doesn't like floorball. Which profession does Jane possess? Who all are computer scientists? Which sport does Jane do?
Cain likes Volleyball. Sociologist. Alice likes Ping-pong. Sociologist. Issac likes Baseball. Computer scientist. Hannah likes Ice Hockey. Computer Scientist. Eli likes Football. Computer Scientist. Lisa likes Tennis. Chemist. Jane likes Floorball. Chemist. Matthew likes Badminton. Chemist. I put in more effort than I probably should've for that one.
Here's one for you guys: "To all things and men I appertain, and yet by some am shunned and distained. Fondle me and ogle me til you’re insane, but no blow can harm me, cause me pain. Children delight in me, elders take fright. Fair maids rejoice and spin. Cry and I weep, yawn and I sleep. Smile, and I too shall grin. What am I?”
