So this will be the third time we have changed the ranks, but this time it won't be as drastic. The goal of these changes is to make things a bit more clear regarding the role of each rank, but also to ensure a solid longevity in the overall career that one could attain. A new rank tier: Jedi Specialist First big change you'll notice is the two new ranks that were added. These are new ranks added to the split trees. So now after Assassin, you'll be able to rank up to Battlemaster. And after Shadow, you'll move to Sage. Battlemasters are essentially what the Assassin rank was originally going to embody, however the 3 ranks are now a bit more spread evenly. You can read about them on the ranks page, but essentially they are the best of the best, in terms of saber combat and teaching ability. Sages are like Shadows, but will have even more responsibility. They are essentially ambassadors to other clans, as well as all the other responsibilities that Shadows and Consulars have. Endgame content After you reach a Specialist rank in your chosen path, you will then be able to "cross-train" in the other path, in order to attain the qualifications that those ranks provide. For example, only Consulars can host casual events, but if you're a Battlemaster, you can trial to be Consular and achieve that ability to host casual events. If you're a Sage but want to start hosting combat classes, you can cross-train in Sentinel, then Assassin. So on and so forth. Cross-training will act just as if you were normally in that rank. You will be trialed when the council thinks it's a good time. You retain your original rank when you cross-train, so if you're a Battlemaster that cross-trains as a Consular, your rank is still a Battlemaster. Once you are cross-trained up to the Specialist rank (so now you are qualified in both ranks), you are then eligible to be a Jedi Master. This is the only way to achieve the Jedi Master rank. The Jedi Master rank is for those people that aren't picked for the Shadow Council. The method of attaining council is the same. Only a very select few members will ever make it to the Shadow Council. This new change allows users to still be of importance and show their prestige in a rank that is directly below the council. Masters will act as the Council's "ear to the ground" so to speak, in some ways. Roles Ranks have always had specific roles and abilities that others don't, however they were very loosely upheld on my part. This caused some confusion and frustration between a lot of people, so hopefully this fixes that as much as I can. Roles will now be more defined and upheld. Each rank gains you more abilities within the clan. They are cumulative, so whatever ability you gained from your Jedi rank, you still have when you gain your Jedi Knight rank. As you progress, you get more important roles, since you have shown that you can handle them. You can read what each rank's roles are on the Ranks page. There's not a ton of detail on those descriptions, and sometimes every person's role in their rank could be slightly different. If you ever have a question regarding your role in your rank, just ask me. And be open to anything I ask of you as well.
