Tonight our very own @-=( NineOne )=- was trialed for the Jedi Assassin rank, and passed impressively! Congrats, Nine. You will make a fine addition to the Assassin role. Your skills and leadership will aid us in many ways from this day on. Nice job. In addition to this announcement, I would like to also announce another change to the rank system. Its a minor change, however it can be a big change for many that are working to rank up. The changes can be summed up as follows: The Sentinel and Assassin ranks are now completely focused on skill. Teaching is no longer a component of being in these ranks. They are solely focused on skill with both the saber and movement. Teaching is now permitted by anyone, in a casual sense. If you want to give pointers and helpful tips to someone or multiple people at a time, you can. However, teaching in an official capacity is now restricted to the Master rank. This applies to having an Apprentice and teaching regular class sessions. The difference between teaching casually and teaching an apprentice is frequency and focus. A Master/Apprentice relationship is for a Master to teach one person regularly, and only that person. It allows for more personal and hands-on teaching. This goes for sabering, movement, modding, etc. The Master rank no longer requires all four roles to be achieved as prerequisites. You only need to achieve a Jedi Knight role (Shadow/Assassin), which implies you already achieved the Jedi roles as well (Sentinel/Consular). Keep in mind, being a Master is not the equivalent of being on the Council. That has not changed. These changes were made to properly scale to our current clan size and activity. The previous system would have made clan careers take a very long time to progress, and I don't want that to happen. This obviously doesn't mean people will be getting a fast track to Master necessarily, but it's clear that the old system was hindering a lot of what people were wanting to do, and what I am wanting them to do. So its good news for everyone!
